Lisa Wenzel has a genuine interest in her client’s story. She believes that healing begins with feeling heard, and her commitment to an empathetic and safe environment will encourage clients as they pursue personal therapy goals. Lisa works with individuals, couples or families dealing with depression, trauma, sexual, spiritual or domestic abuse, grief and loss, marital issues and divorce adjustment. She has a special place in her heart for those who have experienced unplanned pregnancy and for those facing the unique challenges of adoption and/or blended families. Lisa spent 12 years of her early professional life involved in the music industry which provides her with a particular understanding of the professional and relational challenges those within that community face. Lisa is passionate about collaborating with clients, to generate hope as they work toward mental, emotional and relational health.
Lisa is a pre-licensed professional Marriage and Family Therapist with a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the Nashville Area Association of Christian Counselors.
Raised in West Africa by missionary parents Lisa has also lived in Paraguay, and this cross-cultural experience has produced Lisa’s love of diversity and respect for other cultures and traditions. Lisa has volunteered with Compassion International and Mercy Ministries. Lisa has launched two adult sons and is enjoying her last son’s High School years.
